Call for Applications
for the Directorship of IBS Research Centers and Faculty Members for Biomedical
Research Institute
The Institute for Basic Science (IBS) was established by
the Korean government in November 2011 with the goal to create a world-class
research institute in the basic sciences. IBS invites applications for the
position of a Director for a number of research centers. These centers will
foster the growth of world-class basic science research in order to advance the
creation of knowledge and the basis of future technologies.
Each center will have an average annual budget of USD10
million for 10 years. The director will be given a great deal of autonomy to
decide on a research focus, recruit staff and run their centers.
One of the IBS Research Centers will be hosted by the
Biomedical Research Institute (BRI) of Soon Chun Hyang(SCH)
University, homes.sch.ac.kr/english, a prestigious
biomedical university with nationwide hospitals in Korea. Please refer to the

Eligibility: All candidates for the
directorship must have either globally-recognized research achievements or the
potential for such achievements in biomedical field.
Requirements: Director selected for this
placement will be expected to
¡Ü Work at the biomedical field preferrably
on large-scale and long-term group programs
¡Ü Direct and manage a
research center at BRI.
In addition, the BRI at SCH University is also recruiting
the faculty members interested in working on biomedical projects. We have strong
financial backing and we offer competitive salaries and benefits packages to the
selected faculty members.
